A question of art

This week's prompt for, Sunday Scribblings is Art. They pose the question: What do you make of art?

ugly
beautiful
meaningful
incomprehensible
It's junk!
It's amazing!

Art begs a response

The progeny of creativity,
it speaks to the soul

If the soul begets creativity
and creativity begets art

Does that mean without a soul there is no art?
And if a creation provokes no response, is it still art?

Maybe nothing really exists but we're imagining it all!

I firmly believe a soul is required! Great food for thought...thanks for making me ponder.

I think that really great art gives us a glimpse into another person's soul.

I recall being asked somewhere "What's the opposite of creativity?"... and the only answer I could come up with was "Death". So yes, there must be a soul in action to produce art.

Ell, thanks so much for the Van Gogh's Ear award. It's prompted me to reflect a little on what he means in my life, in a new post today.

this is all so interesting about art. what if it speaks to one soul and not to another, so it is art to one soul and not to another. fun pondering.
